Question about the rules

7) I HATE THIS SO MUCH. IF YOU POST YOUR PERSONAL WEBSITE IN THE BOARDS, C-BOX OR PM IT TO SOMEONE, THE FOLLOWING WILL HAPPEN. FIRST TIME YOU WILL BEEN SUSPENDED FOR 3 DAYS. SECOND TIME BANNED AND WILL NEVER RETURN. THRID TIME, THERE WILL BE NO THRID TIME. YOU'LL ALREADY BE GONE 4 GOOD.

anyways this seems a little severe, I mean if it weren't for advertising then I would never have found this site in the first place, so I don't think advertising is that bad

however I am totally against advertising constantly, putting a link in your sig is pushing it for me. On my Marvel forum we had this one stupid guy who one of the oldest guys on our site met, and somehow they agreed that if our guy could post a link to my site on the other guy's site, then he could do the same. Unfortunately this didn't go too well. We didn't get a single new member out of it, but the stupid guy ended up posting a grand total of four times, over about a month... every single time he mentioned his own forum in his post, and shoved a link in our faces. We all got annoyed at him, but were content with making fun of him in our admin's Meeting Room, until he seriously annoyed us. The same guy I mentioned earlier posted a link to one of his forums, of which I was already a member, but then the stupid, advertising loser said "Don't join his site, join mine" and then posted a link. Idiot. About a week later we decided to ban him if he didn't start posting properly, and he didn't do a thing, so we banned him.

now I don't wanna be anything like that guy, but I have my own Yu-Gi-Oh related ideas, so I'm making a forum. Most of the members would be guys I meet on GameKing, but I'd really like to have some of you guys on it, and I really need someone who's an expert on the whole continuity stuff, as I'm pretty far behind on episodes, and just go by what I read on the Yu-Gi-Oh wikia ;D

the reason I'm a member of a few different forums is all thanks to advertising, and I've made a bunch of new friends out of it, and usually we have a section for advertising, so no-one gets annoyed, because you can't really get annoyed at someone for advertising in the advertising section can you?


in others words: "Is it Ok if I post a link to my forum?" (which incidentally is nowhere near finished) ;D

oh and (you did want to join right?) on the forum the rules about characters are that you get two canon characters and as many made-up characters as you want (the two canon characters is mainly just so you get one from Yu-Gi-Oh and one from GX) and my sister (who is suddenly obsessed with Crystal Beasts, go figure *shrugs*) wants Jesse/Johan Anderson, but if you wanted him then I'd just tell her that she couldn't have him, she probably would care much anyway
