Splashing at the water

[Rei Saotome]

Just as the sun was setting, Rei skipped up and down along the coast, shoes in hand, letting her feet splash along in the water. It was a beautiful scene setting in the sky as she thought to herself about the short time she'd been here at the school, having had little presence for her first few months.

"If I'm ever gonna get further in the ranks, I'm gonna have to put in some serious overtime. Alright.. first person I see, I'm challenging 'em!" Rei clenched her fist determinedly as she stared into the setting sun, the light reflecting and sparkling both in the ocean and in her eyes.

Atticus was walking around Duel Academy, and then he saw that Rei was walking around too. "What's up Rei?" he shouted.

[Lucifer]

Lucifer was looking at the sunset when he heard someone shouting. He turned to see some Obelisk Blue boy and a Slifer Red girl.

Rei blinked, looked over toward the shouting voice, then grinned, waving a hand in the air as she shouted back, "Hiiii! Just enjoying the beach and the sunset! How about you?"

She glanced over to the third figure nearby, but looked immediately back to Atticus, choosing to ignore the other guy for now.

Atticus walked closer to Rei so that he wouldn't have to shout. "I'm just walking around...really nothing to do right now," he said, also ignoring the other guy that he saw.

Rei nodded, skipping toward him, stopping just short and turning toward the ocean with a arm reached out and pointing.

"Isn't it pretty? I love to watch the sun setting upon the rippling waters! It makes such pretty colors~" She grinned as she turned back toward him.

Atticus stared at the sun...luckily for him he was wearing sunglasses so that the sun wouldn't blilnd him. "I like to hang out and surf.....surfing is so cool, especially when I catch a high tide," he replied.

[Rei Saotome]

"Oh yeah, I bet! It must be lots of fun!" Rei continued to grin as she looked back out at the ocean again, then back to Atticus once more.

"I've never surfed, actually.. I've always wanted to try it sometime, though! Is it hard?" Rei blinked, suddenly looking as though she were a little frightened by the thought of falling off the board.

"Not that hard," Atticus replied. "It just takes time and concentration. Focus on balance and you'll be fine." He pulls out a surfboard he brought along. "Wanna give it a try?"

[Rei Saotome]

Rei blinked and looked at the board, immediately responding, "Sure! Err.. wait. I don't have a swimsuit on me right now.. I'd hafta run back to the dorm to get it."

Rei blushed a little, poking her fingers together as she said it, feeling a little embarrased that she wasn't better prepared.

Atticus didn't know how to respond, so he dropped the board and sat down. "I wish there could be a really high tide so that I can ride it, and hopefully be a surfing legend," he responded.

[Rei Saotome]

Rei blinked, then grinned, plopping down as well, nodding in response, "Yeah! You can do it, Atticus! We just gotta find the biggest wave?" She giggled, clapping her hands together excitedly.

[Fubiki Tenjouin]

"I heard there is going to be a pretty big wave tonight...around midnight," Atticus stared at his watch. "It's...10:48 PM right now," he told Rei.

[Rei Saotome]

Rei gasped softly, then nodded determinedly.

"Then I'll stay here with you until midnight! That way I can cheer you on and be your witness!" Rei smiled, clapping her hands together once more, excited at the thought of being the first to see Atticus become a legend.

Midnight was approaching, so Atticus decided to practice a little bit. He caught some good-sized waves, but fell on most of them. "Woah!" he'd yell everytime he fell of his surfbaord. "Yee-Haw!" he'd yell everytime he successfully land on the water.
